Electrolyzer outlets: high-precision control valves protect the ion-exchange membrane
Membrane electrolyzers are central to chlor-alkali production. The pressure balance between outlet hydrogen and wet chlorine directly affects membrane life and system safety. These locations demand rapid valve response, precise control and corrosion resistance. Ordinary valves may fail to meet process requirements, risking membrane damage or safety incidents.
With more than ten years of chlor-alkali experience, Shandong Longfei has developed a dedicated imported-valve solution for electrolyzer outlets:
- Hydrogen side: MOTOYAMA 3889 single-seat control valves with SCPH2 bodies and 316 trim provide high control accuracy and stability. They are used with mainstream electrolyzers from suppliers including Asahi Kasei and Beijing Chemical Machinery.
- Wet chlorine side: Kammer 132000 lined single-seat valves combine full PFA linings with PTFE bellows seals for strong-acid resistance and precise control. XOMOX lined butterfly valves provide economical control in downstream wet chlorine sections.
The solution has been used in several domestic chlor-alkali projects with million-tonne-scale capacities, improving stability and safety. Through accurately matched imported valve combinations, Longfei aims to minimize control risks in core processes and protect the value of each ion-exchange membrane.
